I Hate to be Doubtful, but...

Okay, so my computer is finally working again. I know all you out there in Cubbie-dom really missed me this past week (okay, even if you didn't, it'd be nice for you all to pretend).
A lot of stuff has happened as far as the Cubs are concerned since I last posted. Let's see, shall we start with the positives?
Last week the Cubs managed to tear Blue Jays pitchers Halliday and Litsch apart, scoring 6 and 7 runs in back-to-back days. Dempster, Lilly and Marquis continued their success, though Dempster has yet to anything noteworthy on the road. Oh, wait, that kind of sounds like a negative. Well, if it's time, it's time.
So we all know that Soriano is out of the line out at the moment, which stings, no doubt. Add to that DL list, Cubs ace pitcher Carlos Zambrano (something with his shoulder--reports are currently sketchy at best) and every Cubs fan's favorite-guy-they-hated-last-year, Jim Edmonds (day by day due to foot issues) and it looks like the Northsiders may have a tougher go of it this season than they originally let on.
I know I may be jumping the gun a bit. After all, we don't exactly know how serious Zambrano's injury is at this point and everyone swears that Soriano and Daryle Ward will be playing by July, but as a Cubs fan this reminds me way too much of the Mark Prior and Derrek Lee injuries of recent seasons that derailed "Our Year".
Hopefully the Cubs can keep it together, or even better, hopefully some of the other team members can step it up. The whole team has talent, it's just a matter of tapping into it consistently.
As for the immediate future, let's hope Gallagher can pull it off against the Rays tonight, not only to avoid the sweep, but to keep the Cubs as the only organization in baseball still yet to lose three in a row. (yeah, I know that's basically avoiding a sweep, but there are other ways to lose three in a row)
Be Strong Cubbies, Be Strong!
